Last week's stop on the DGPT Elite series tour brought Uplay to the Preserve, in Clearwater, MN. The entire tour was happy to be back at Cale's property in the summertime spirit, and also very excited to work with middle school aged children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota summer camps.
Boys & Girls Club members from multiple sites, including Clearview KIDSTOP, attended a field trip to the Preserve Disc Golf course on Tuesday morning of June 27th. Site manager of the local KIDSTOP property, Alex Girodat, reached out requesting Uplay to schedule at the beginning of 2023, and about 2 months prior to the event, requested the opportunity to have specific campers come back and volunteer to do the FPO crowd control for Friday's round 1. DGPT's very own Brian Cole made it easy to honor Alex's special request, and scheduled a small group of kiddos to capture the front-row memory that will last each of them a lifetime!
“We are so grateful to UPlay for providing this field trip for our youth,” said Alex Girodat, Clearview KIDSTOP site manager. “These professionals exposed our members to a new sport that they can potentially enjoy throughout their lives. This is a great way to get kids outside, enjoying nature and staying active.”

Uplay is proud of the outstanding efforts that our Pro Ambassadors are putting in to provide these unique summertime community connection disc golf experiences. Ella Hansen led our team of Uplay coaches: Paige Pierce, Raven Klein, Cynthia Riciotti, Luke Humphries, Conner O'Reilly, and they were joined by media team members Anie Smith, Meagan Brown, and Isaac Goldblatt.
Please enjoy looking at these precious photos that tell the story of teaching and sharing disc golf, while the inspiration of children ignites. One of the greatest parts, each child can easily enjoy playing disc golf at the Preserve, and have lifelong memories of their new favorite coaches throwing shots that they couldn't have imagined before!

Up to this point in the 2023 season, our beloved community connect programs have provided the following resources and equipment to the recipients at each of the 10 locations:
*Uplay Disc Golf Basics curriculum Books: 25
*Discmania Active Target Baskets: 18
*Discmania starter pack discs to schools/youth organizations: 810
*Putters given to participants, powered by Udisc: 2,143
*Trash Panda minis: 1,243
The Impact from each one of the community connect program events is massive! As Uplay hoped, by expanding our staff for the 2023 season we have been able to connect with each community more mindfully in our communications and also in our outcomes after the events. As the executive director of Uplay, I am motivated daily by the tasks that I do administratively. The communication and planning of all of our events and programs, the functionality, and the follow up is very important work that provides so much more than I can write in these reports. Thank you all for taking the time to read these, to share about Uplay, and for all of your amazing support!
