March is Women’s History Month and we’re kicking off a series of posts to highlight women in the Disc Golf Hall of Fame and in disc golf history, starting with Valarie Jenkins!
Valarie was inducted in the PDGA Disc Golf Hall of Fame in 2020. She started off her disc golf journey with Junior World Championship title at the age of 15. Since then she has claimed 4 World Champion titles, 5x Player of the Year awards, as well as the Bob West Sportsmanship Award. While touring professionally, Val earned a BA in Marketing and utilizes her education and experience to further women’s disc golf. Currently, Val is based in her hometown of Bend, Oregon. She grew up in the disc golf community and continues to give back in many ways locally and nationally through her involvement in women’s leagues in Central Oregon and the Women’s Global Event, which she founded in 2012. She serves as Uplay Board Member and Ambassador, provides live commentary for Disc Golf Pro Tour events, and co-owns Bevel Craft Brewing.
