The Disc Golf Pro Tour connects with local communities at each stop on the Disc Golf Pro Tour. We started the year off in Phoenix, Arizona for the Memorial Championship. Uplay, along with some of our Pro Ambassadors, taught disc golf to students at Whittier Elementary School. We believe connecting the sport with local schools is one of the best ways to grow the sport.
We took over an entire day of PE classes when we are in schools. After a general Disc Golf Strong warm up, Uplay teaches proper basics to perform each skill necessary to play disc golf. Putting, backhand, and forehand are the areas of focus for each class period followed by fun and interactive drills to instill the days lesson.
Sadly due to the pandemic our season of Community Connect was cut short just after our time at Whittier Elementary. The Community Connect program will continue in 2021 once restrictions are lifted.
